Professional Standards
One of APIC current major initiatives is taking leadership in the development of professional standards within the investment management consulting profession. To this end the Board of Directors has approved an APIC Code of Ethics and have developed a Professional Standards Guide, in cooperation with the Foundation for Fiduciary Studies.

- APIC Code of Ethics
Approved in 2004, the APIC Code of Ethics is a voluntary guideline for APIC members to use with their clients as a sign of their commitment to ensuring the highest level of ethical behavior in the management of client funds.
- Professional Standards Guide for Investment Management Consultants
Published in 2005 by APIC the Professional Standards Guide gives its members a new tool to use in growing their practices. The standards it contains were developed in conjunction with Prudent Investment Practices Handbook, which provides guidance to individuals who have responsibility for consulting to others.

Published by the Foundation for Fiduciary Studies, this Handbook for Investment Fiduciaries is an outstanding resource for use with your clients who the legal responsibility for managing someone else’s money. APIC members receive a substantial discount - see the order form for more details.
