Become an APIC Member

APIC is a not-for-profit association, organized, managed and funded entirely by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Financial Advisors (FA). Membership is restricted to those who meet certain qualifications of commitment, competence and compliance in the practice of investment management consulting. Application and admission to APIC is by a process of peer-review, members of APIC self-select in order to benefit from and contribute to APIC's initiatives: EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, INNOVATION and COMMUNICATION.

All members must be Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Graystone Consulting Financial Advisors or an employee of an affiliated company.

APIC has two categories of membership - Voting and Associate (Non-Voting).

Voting applicants must be Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Graystone Consulting Financial Advisors who meet the membership standards on the following page.

Associate (Non-Voting) members must be either

  1. Team Associate: in an established "team" relationship with a Voting member, including technical analysts, marketing associates and other designated team members.

  2. Firm Associate: other employees of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or an affiliated company as defined in our bylaws, excepting Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Graystone Consulting Financial Advisors, including Consulting Group Staff, Branch Managers, and others who wish to support APIC and participate in its activities.

(Smith Barney or a Citigroup-affiliated employees. Except SB/Citi FAs, not meeting the qualifications.)
