About The Members: We view each other as colleagues rather than competitors, and APIC fosters a collegial atmosphere among its members. The notion of sharing with each other our successes, failures, ideas, academic insights - the fact that we teach each other openly, willingly and quite well - is virtually unheard of in the brokerage and consulting communities. Yet sharing is the foundation ethic of APIC. As APIC raises the professional competence of our members, we through Consulting Group force the rest of the industry to improve just to stay even. Indirectly, in this way we provide benefits to ALL clients in the industry, whether they be OUR clients, or those of our competitors. Most of us are continually trying to reinvent the structure of our practices so that the time we spend at work is more enjoyable. APIC members have diverse practice structures and the related knowledge that allows us to draw on the experience of each other and use solutions that have been tested.

Advocacy & Innovation

APIC membership will give you the opportunity to work with and build relationships with people you respect and whose company you enjoy, both personally and professionally. We believe this collaboration allows APIC members to further enhance their level of consulting and service that we deliver to our clients. APIC members are innovators. We actively create and introduce technique and methods to provide cutting-edge service and expertise to our clients, and to develop our practices.

We have organized ourselves into committees that focus on our special areas of expertise or need, and that provide an excellent forum for members to express opinions to people who will listen to their concerns. Advocacy Committees include Research and Evaluation, Corporate Services, Private Wealth Management, Legal and Regulatory, Technology, Endowment/Foundation and others. These committees conduct research, share ideas, develop tools and communicate resulting focus items to the APIC Board, which selects several as "APIC Priorities." As your advocate, APIC works actively with the Firm to achieve these Priority objectives on your behalf.
